These are global energies of the Black moon in Leo or in the 5th House which must be nuanced according to your birth chart, see the article Black Moon in birth chart; see also the article on the general interpretation of the Black moon.
It represents an important karmic factor, at the same time a seed of incarnation (see the Triangle of incarnation), a source of attractions, compulsions, and also of fears, introversions.
The black moon is one of the attributes of the Anima in the chart, and as such it can indicate a Projection of the latter…
As the black moon remains 273 days per sign, its position in the houses is more telling for the personality, the archetypal color of the sign modulates according to it. Consequently, focus on the house impacted in the interpretation, the analysis of the sign must be subordinated to it.
Compensation with radiance and with one’s personality
The black moon in the 5th house or in Leo directly impacts the radiance of the solar ego, and thus these people’s ability to both love themselves and be loved by others. Creativity will be particularly important to cultivate, with all that it may allow these people to prove in terms of their “worth” to the outside world, as well as how it may allow them to express themselves.
It is important to understand that the black moon tends to directly affect the way in which the ego is structured, in terms of these people being able to value themselves personally and be valued by others, in terms of radiating “the self,” and in terms of proving to others that their incarnation is useful; there is a great need for compensation surrounding all of these things.
At its core, this is a position that may tend to make people question the very principles of their incarnation a great deal, including on a karmic, metaphysical level. They feel a need to “understand things,” including for example in the context of family secrets, which may be directly linked to the paternal sphere (their father may pass down a particularly significant karmic charge).
This may contribute greatly to the development of confrontations with various authority figures, in that these people may rebel or take action, sometimes trying to be “king of the hill,” and there are significant energies of rebellion.
Much of this will be a question of which compromises these people are prepared to accept in order to win gratitude and love from others, and this is really a positioning that may by its very nature activate a very “Faustian” archetype: how many concessions will they be willing to make to satisfy their desire to be accepted and recognized? Or to be in the spotlight? Or to be loved and to love themselves?
Venus’s position may be particularly important to analyze, as it is the planet of magnetism, attraction, seduction (both affective and social), and validation; it may describe the way in which these things will be experienced and expressed, and thus also the way in which people may compensate.
The same goes for Saturn, which may accentuate frustrations or fears that inevitably need to be taken into consideration for any process of sublimation when we are talking about self-confidence.
To a certain extent, this positioning of the black moon may be similar to Pluto in the 5th house, in that it gives people greater intensity, passion, and a need to feel like they belong, but it also readily activates possessiveness, jealousy, dominance, power struggles, and intense sexuality (powerful desires, compulsions, a pervading love/hate split), which exacerbates some rather fierce emotions along the way.
By extension, we can connect this Leo / 5th house sector to all forms of creation, as these can be understood as an extension and valorization of oneself, including for example involving these people’s own children, and this black moon may tie some form of violence and excessiveness to this process or lead to a tendency to see things in black and white, thus loving or hating easily, sometimes even leading to a desire to destroy what one has created.
This is also the sector “of gambling” in every sense of the word, and this does not exclude various forms of risk-taking, which may be highly pronounced here and may lead to losses or force these people to give things up; we cannot forget that we are in the cross of the fixed signs here, where notions of love translate more directly into the duality of attachment/detachment.
There are several things that will clearly need to be looked at to refine the interpretation of all of these elements: firstly, the sun and the aspects that it may form of course, as well as the potential conflicts with the Animus that this may lead to, which will tend to be almost directly “welded” to the black moon and to the karmic fulfillment that it represents in relation to the solar ego, including some powerful destructive tendencies.
The overall forces of transpersonal energies should also be analyzed, as they are what also allow the individual ego to find its place “in relation to others” and in relation to the greater whole that is the universe.
I have often noticed, for example, that the people who had the black moon in this position also had a very distinctive Neptunian or Uranian arrangement that gave them the ability to “dissolve the ego,” which both made the ego more difficult to structure and also doubtlessly allowed for evolution to occur, that is, sublimation and reaching a higher stage of expression, as though there was a need to “reconstruct a super-ego” that was not constrained or limited, a process that is not unrelated to the Jungian notion of Individuation of course, which involves finding a different union between the personal and social spheres and projecting one’s individuality onto the world in a different way.
It’s almost as though the solar ego were placed in a crucible that is tasked with remodeling it based on new rules. It may also be important to encourage this process, and disciplines such as theater, for example, or various creative arts may be very useful because they will allow these people to express certain parts of their personality that are less accessible, as well as urges or fears that have been repressed.
Creative expression may in fact be more difficult for these people as well as a result of this, perhaps because of fears of publicly displaying “parts of the self” through their creations and of thus being confronted with risks of regret, jealousy, and wounded pride and therefore with shame, mocking, etc., and yet this forms a path that may be very powerful in terms of promoting evolution, since in the end confrontation with others cannot be avoided indefinitely and avoidance is never a lasting solution to introversion.
