I Ching Hexagram 49: Revolution, astrological interpretation

I-Ching Category

Interpretation: Change may be radical, sudden, excessive, and even violent, but it may carry much evolution-inducing energy, allowing for a “before/after” contrast that may sometimes require that we take paths that are diametrically opposed to those that we followed up until now, if we are able to listen to our inspirations and intuition.
Action allows us to extract ourselves from situations that may be paralyzing us, and there are no regrets about abandoning what must be abandoned; we are at least pursuing dreams of potential betterment.
Some specific thing may lead to a spectacular shift, a realization, or a stroke of genius.
This awareness may be a chance to make a real quantum leap on some project, production, or relationship, while clinging to the past, that which we know, and that which makes us feel safe may be quite counterproductive and useless.
There may be a need to gather together and work as part of a network to socially unite people’s strengths and allow for the necessary reforms to take place, thanks to the group effect.
Deep-seated opinions are also meant to be changed and questioned when they are confronted with other opinions and reality; as the Buddha said of his own words, it is important to act like a goldsmith with one’s gold, testing and analyzing it to be sure of its truthfulness and durability.
It is important to be able to translate the forces that are whipped up here into reality and time.

Astrological points to pay attention to: The energies of Uranus, Aquarius, and the 11th house, as well as all of the symbolism that is attached to them, may come directly out of this.
We encounter emancipation, autonomy, independence, and ideals that drive us to seek out liberty, revolutionize a system, and turn the tables so that we no longer have to deal with old patterns and instead can reform them or create new ones.
In terms of the “security/freedom” duality, this period of time may in fact force us to take some risks; we have to break free from anything that is too paralyzing and we must take the right actions or follow our intuition and aspirations.
These are also energies that need Earth (and Saturn in particular) to make that which is created durable and so that this “revelation” is not just a flash in the pan, but instead translates into reality in a more long-term way.

Remarks: This hexagram brings out a questioning of the current equilibrium and means that we must succeed in finding a “new balance” and a new reality.
