This lunation chart was drawn up at the exact moment of the Sun / Moon conjunction on April 20, 2023, it gives the “general” astral trends for the coming month mainly based on the Aspects and Signs of the zodiac.
This study must be nuanced by bringing it closer to your birth chart, and to your Transits and Progressions for Forecasts.
Think, to help you, to read my interpretation article of the New moon and Full moon in houses.
Main signs impacted during the lunation:
All the 3rd decans of the Cardinal signs, all the 1st decans of the Fixed signs.
Between the 1st quarter review and exacerbated Jovian forces
Like the last new moon, we are still in the sign of Aries, for 2 consecutive lunations, a rather rare phenomenon, and which can obviously underline the importance of this sign, and therefore also of the transit of Jupiter going up in it during the period! And getting ready to leave it by the way, to pass into Taurus during this lunation, which obviously remains the major astrological event to follow of the period.
This new moon can therefore act as a kind of “first assessment” of the year, because the first quarter was able to motivate quite a lot of Fire energies, and then we saw in March important basic elemental changes which can also be quite “destabilizing”, and we still have to manage all of this necessarily in the present, including in all that it can have of transforming (these are background influences which have begun, I recall).
Moreover, we can see that this new moon is placed here at the clear square of Pluto and in conjunction with the north node, somewhat as if to emphasize the need to refocus on one’s fundamental karmic goals, on the shares of emancipation that one may have to conquer (on the side of the Uranian energies, see in particular what I mention concerning the transit of Pluto in Aquarius).
In any case, this is a solar eclipse new moon, so it is very energetic, and therefore likely to mark achievements even over several months.
On this lunation, it can be quite a lot the 3rd decans of all the cardinal signs that benefit the most from Jupiter’s dynamics, and you will not be unhappy about it, because until now, and since 2022, this Jovian transit has “forgotten” you a bit, but now you can also experience this “boost”, even if it is a bit delayed and out of time, you should try to take advantage of it as much as possible according to what this transit can symbolize for you in your birth chart.
Note that Mercury goes retrograde at the beginning of the lunation, from April 21 and from the middle of Taurus, the retrograde motion insisting for several weeks until May 15 on the 1st decans of the Fixed signs, and may see you confronted with a setback, a delay, a grain of sand in your logistics, because something or someone refuses to go along with you, or imposes a power struggle on you.
Avoid as much as possible to conclude anything during this period, and take some time to reflect, this retrograde motion lends itself well to that.
The Full Moon on May 05, 2023 will be conjunct the South Node, so forming a lunar eclipse this time, it may have more exacerbated emotional forces, especially since there are quite a few more salient water energies in the period, such as Venus in Gemini squaring Neptune in Pisces, or Mars moving up into Cancer and past the square to Chiron.
It is possible with these forces that one feels more strongly an “insecurity” for example, or doubts, hesitations, it is really possible that the mental forces are too much confused by the world of the emotional feelings…
Also that joins what I evoked for the retrograde motion of Mercury, really avoid during this phase to take impulsive decisions, or too much “to the emotional level”, try to take this time “to think”, at least on all the second half of the lunation!
Jupiter will pass through the sign of Taurus around May 16, 2023 and will stay there for about 1 year, which adds yet another elemental change to the period (here for the Earth), which decidedly in a short period of time, sees quite a few forces shaken up (Saturn, Pluto and now the Jovian forces so, I will have the opportunity to come back to this specific transit obviously in a dedicated article).
We can see, between the resumption of Mercury’s direct motion on May 15 and the passage of Jupiter into Taurus on May 16, that this forms a very energetic end of lunation! And this could allow for some interesting unblocking but also to manage an important impulse at the end of May, if for example you want to start a new job, a new social achievement, this could be interesting to manage if you are sensitive to the new transit of Jupiter that is taking place…
