Jupiter enters Gemini around May 26, 2024, and remains there for a full year, where it will largely exacerbate the various aerial, and especially mercurian, forces within the zodiac.
This is its detriment sign in relation to its Sagittarius domicile, which may in some ways force the planet to step out of its natural, spontaneous energies, to be notably more “mental” and Cartesian.
Main signs impacted during this transit:
Gemini and Mutable signs (Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces), as well as other Air signs Libra and Aquarius.
Effervescent social forces
The recent Jupiter/Uranus conjunction of April 2024, in the 3rd decan of Taurus, may mark a major impulse for the year, a dynamic which Jupiter’s transit into Gemini may therefore continue to develop and concretize (notably in terms of emancipation forces).
We now need to understand the energies of the Mercurian function in terms of what it can motivate, and according to the different ages of life in which we may have to express it.
It can be very useful, for example, for initiating new learning, launching studies or developing them (taking important exams), especially if you’re going through this transit at a young age.
At a slightly older age, it may simply turn into a need for exchanges and communications, for socialization, in which this Jupiter transit can help.
With even greater maturity, we can rediscover the need to teach and pass on our knowledge to others, in the perpetuation of this knowledge that we can give, in the philosophies of life that we can share.
The common denominator is always the need for externalization, for extroversion, where the other person plays an important and imperative social role (you can’t really develop Mercurian energies “alone” for very long).
Important dates (to mark in your diaries according to your own chart)
From the end of May to the 2nd dekad of July 2024, the 1st decan of Gemini will be especially concerned, where Jupiter will have time to shine at the trine of Pluto’s transit in early Aquarius, which can help all the first decans of the Air signs to have an active, transformative dynamic.
This is useful, for example, if you want to turn a page more definitively, settle a situation, or give impulse to an affirmation or emancipation, especially as the Black Moon will begin to transit in parallel the 1st decan of Libra, which constitutes a harmonic figure of the Air Grand Trine to be exploited (I’ll have the opportunity to come back to this karmic transit in a dedicated article).
From the 2nd decade of July, Jupiter takes over the 2nd decan of Gemini until the 3rd decade of August, with not necessarily many parallel influences to report in the rest of the sky, except for the arrival of the Mars transit also in Gemini from the 3rd decade of July, which can considerably energize the sign and the Jupiter transit (forming a trigger factor to mark in your diary).
The Mars / Jupiter conjunction will take place exactly in mid-August 2024, at the square of Saturn’s transit in Pisces, so this is an important phase not to be overlooked! (especially for 2nd decans)
The sky is really quite tense at this time, and with the confrontation of the social planets, it could form a major explosive force at this moment, both in relationships and in the socio-professional sphere.
It can be as much a new job to initiate, as a notion of confrontation with an authority, and there can be a kind of confusion in the decisions to be made, a feeling like pressing on the gas pedal and the brake at the same time, or feeling hampered at least momentarily in the externalizations you want to form (a confusion that is likely to continue to reverberate into the new school year in September).
In any case, this mid-August period tends to form a very important temporal marker of Jupiter’s entire transit in Gemini, a kind of culmination of these influences, so to speak, which may have to develop further during Jupiter’s retrograde motion (which will insist on this sector).
Around the 2nd dekad of September, Jupiter’s transit will already reach the 3rd decan of Gemini and will insist on it with its retrograde motion, which will begin around the 2nd dekad of October.
Not many influences to note here with the rest of the sky again, but obviously if you have planets in the main signs impacted, especially on the beginning of the 3rd decan and on the 2nd decan, you’ll be able to feel this retrograde motion more strongly, even until spring 2025.
The big highlight of this retrograde motion will be the insistence on the square of transiting Saturn in Pisces, especially from mid-December until mid-January 2025, which can take us very directly back to points first awakened in mid-August! (when Mars may have formed its initial trigger).
Try, for example, to settle as many social and professional matters as possible before this period, because the insistence on the social planets squaring off can be quite “sticky” at this level (especially as there will also be a major retrograde of Mars during this period, which I’ll come back to in a dedicated article).
Jupiter’s transit will resume direct motion towards the beginning of February 2025, on the beginning of the 2nd decan of Gemini, which could form a month with a lot of social and relational unblocking, even up to the end of March (we see the important passage of Neptune in Aries at this time, which signals a change of elemental energy to follow).
Jupiter will return to the 3rd decan towards the end of April 2025, without forming a major aspect to the rest of the sky, but from June onwards will tighten the important square to the Saturn / Neptune conjunction, which will operate at the beginning of Aries, and will form a particularly important step to climb in the period of mid-June 2025 (Jupiter moves into Cancer in the 2nd dekad of June, so I’ll have a chance to talk about this again).
So, overall, there are 2-3 major phases to remember from this transit of Jupiter in Gemini, but this will mainly concern the influences mentioned according to each decan, so not everyone will feel these energies equally. It’s up to you to note the phases according to your own birth energies…
