The planet Pluto will start to slowly shift within Aquarius from the end of March 2023 (the 23rd), and it is a long term transit that is beginning, since it will not leave this sign definitively before January 2044, that is to say a journey of about 21 years (!), so that has a really important depth and slowness that should not be neglected.
Obviously, I am not going to detail here the whole of its transit, which may have different short and medium term nuances according to the years, I will especially try to explain its general symbolism and its main features.
Lessons from the French Revolution?
As I already mentioned in the article about https://passion-astro.com/transit-saturne-in-pisces-2023-2026/Saturn’s transit in Pisces, which takes place this same month of March 2023, planets which are on the “first degree” of a sign, always have a particularly important energetic charge, and are therefore all the more important to watch and analyze, and even more so when it comes to Pluto, which is still a transit of major depth, far from being insignificant, whether in mundane or personal astrology.
To remind you of some important transits on the first degree, the transit of Pluto in Capricorn took place in 2008, during the outbreak of the subprime crisis, and we can mention even more striking, the definitive transit of Uranus into Aries, which took place almost exactly at the time of the Fukushima nuclear accident in the 2nd decade of March 2011…
This does not mean of course that we will necessarily have the same kind of phenomena, each transit being quite different, but this being said the phases of ingress (first degree) are never to be neglected in their effects, because logically the planet changes its elemental energy, and astrologically this forms a small energetic revolution! Enough to impulse a drastically different dynamic, and sometimes moreover in a rather violent way…
Here moreover, Pluto passing under Uranian rule, it’s not really a restful mix! The forces of reform, emancipation, liberation, remain very electric, this can be very powerful in terms of awakening, awareness, but also have a powerful charge of rupture…
To give you an idea, as the planet takes almost two and a half centuries to go around the zodiac, the previous passage of Pluto in Aquarius dates from 1777 to 1798, so in France we were in the period of the French Revolution!
Its rise, the grumbling of the people against the monarchical power, the insurrections, the storming of the Bastille, but also everything that followed, the advent of the republic, the adoption of the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen, but also at the cost of what History will call “the Reign of Terror”: more than 500 000 people jailed and tens of thousands of executions by guillotine…
So much to say really ” an important purge “, even massive, of all the system, and in a framework of quasi civil war…
We are really with this type of astrological energies, in a desire of reform and revolution which can be very powerful and very excessive, and not very calm, not very inclined to compromise and to the semi-measure, as the French example of our History shows it…
It may that with this background, in mundane astrology, France is much more sensitive to this type of Plutonian transit.
These are energies that remain very divisive and excessive, but which can therefore allow – even “by force of circumstance” – to start again on new bases, even quite drastically different from the previous ones.
Notions of loss, of breakage, can be sudden, unpredictable, and with a violent purge at the end, for example, with overnight realization that a system can no longer work as before, that it must be destroyed and that a new system must emerge.
Exactly like the monarchy, which probably thought it was going to last forever, which was completely disconnected from popular reality, and which was unable to wake up in time to take the measure of things: when the events broke out, it was too late, everyone was “up against the wall”, faced with “faits accomplis”!
Yet, who would have imagined France without a king a few decades earlier?
Certainly, nowadays, political systems are “locked” differently, but this clearly does not mean that they are “indestructible” for all that, and that violent winds of reform (including by force of fate again) cannot act on them…
We saw it for the Covid, we can see it in climatic, economic, war constraints, or whatever.
We can think that the year 2023 could already begin to plant some of the seeds of all this, in any case the events that occur will have to be analyzed more finely in this sense, but it will probably take several years for the forces of reform to take hold on a more massive scale (up to the year 2044, quite a long time after all).
A bit like the French revolution, or the 2008 crisis I mentioned earlier, we can see that it is the whole passage in the whole sign that serves to develop things…
Soon from 2024, the transit of Uranus will start to form an increasing trine to Pluto, so still an astrological aspect with a really important symbolism of reform and emancipation for several years! Even until 2028.
Obviously, in personal astrology this can be translated differently according to your birth chart, depending on your intrinsic sensitivity to Uranian and Plutonian forces in particular…
This can allow in any case a really important “coup de force” to emancipate oneself, to no longer support the old schemes, the old relationships of power and domination.
So basically, ask yourself maybe already this question: “what do I need to free myself from in my life?” Because this Plutonian transit could be major in helping you in that, to purge what needs to be purged…
Note however, given the forces involved, it is very likely that this is not something that is fully “conscious” for you in the first place.
It may be a personal or karmic pattern that you have been repeating until now like a refrain, without even necessarily realizing it, but which finds there a form of stopper, of awareness, so that things can no longer be followed and repeated as before…
With Pluto, the realizations that the planet allows are never easy, they are often brutal, destabilizing, insecure, impetuous and compulsive, they happen by force of circumstance, but remain salutary on the background of the experience.
We must trust the fundamentally “healthy” nature of this process (the Alchemical Calcinatio), in the long run, we often realize this several years after the events in question, but those will have allowed us a purge that from now on is fully part of the new personality!
A bit like the French revolution: how can we imagine a France of 2023 where this event would never have taken place? What would this country look like if it had not known it? It would surely have nothing to do with what we know…
On a personal level, it could be exactly the same type of mechanism, operation, lesson…
