Uranus transit is now gradually leaving the sign of Aries to begin to invest Taurus since the new Moon of May 15 2018, until the end of April 2026, a slow transit in the background therefore, which will obviously go through several phases.
This planet is the planet of freedom, emancipation, of link with the collective, it’s a vector of many surprises, of unexpected, implying a sudden, unpredictable aspect, and in Taurus it comes up against almost the opposite…
Uranian groundswell on the safety bases
Uranus is not at ease in this Taurus sign, in fall (see Rulerships), which implies different antagonisms…
It’s necessary to understand the functioning of both, Taurus, as the astrologer Howard Sasportas said, seek above all to “secure their environment”, they seek to possess to reassure themself, as a good Earth sign, attached to the work values, stability, durability, reliability, very empirical, with needs to touch, to see, to understand and do…
And the planet Uranus works a little backwards from all that, it’s a more “etheric” energy, intuitive, receptive, mental, it has a violence, an instability, an elusiveness, because in fact its main fuel is freedom, independence, ideals, and for these elements it can take all the risks, put itself in all the unbalances, it will prefer 1 million times to taste freedom of the present moment than to structure constraints over the duration… It has just “broken” the septenary, just after Saturn in the solar system, to help it fo reform, to help it extract itself from its crystallizations.
We can easily guess confrontation which emerges from these energies, it’s a big duality “freedom / security” which will confront each other (a form of fight against its Shadow), between matter and spirit, uranus comes to make us take risks, it comes to shake Taurus on its bases to tell to this sign “come on, get out of your comfort zone a little ! take your responsibilities for being who you really are instead of always dealing with your fear”, and this can operate more directly through “losses”, dispossessions, fatalities, to produce the necessary renunciation and letting go…
And the stability parts don’t like that at all ! Taurus archetype always wants a “quiet” life, simple, comfortable, without risk (this is a Venusian sign, not Martian), even if Taurus has to compromise and sacrifice his freedom for that, but there it seems that the sign no longer has the same possible choices and is forced to make choices that he doesn’t believe he’s able to do, or even where he will drag his feet or have an unusual behavior, contrary to what he usually gives off… But uranus is going to boil, it’s obvious, and if we try to cage the planet it might be even more violent when the dikes give in, because they will give in, the planet will leave no other alternative, it never does.
The notion of material and financial crisis may therefore be more important with this transit, Uranus may ask for reforms, create a U-turn, in addition with the transits that operate in parallel in Capricorn (at least for a few more years), we remain in a very social symbolic, directly linked to our sense of values, to the way we value all things and people, and to the reasons that push us to act in this way.
On the positive side, we will be obliged to accept compromises, reforms and a different structuring of our security bases because the old ones no longer correspond ! There is much of the alchemical process of “Sublimatio” during this transit, uranus coming to force a step back and an “elevation” on heavy, compact energies, but with the aim of pursuing deeper ideals, useful for the fundamental realization (and Taurus will then be able to channel the risks of scattering and the too great natural versatility).
Uranus in transit through Taurus 2018 / 2026
The signs most directly concerned will be those of the Fixed cross, therefore also Leo, Scorpio and especially Aquarius who is the natural ruler of these Uranian energies. The proper of the fixed cross is to stabilize : well it will be destabilized ! This can also be detrimental to the stabilization processes of the Zodiac in general… Of course also the signs in Earth Trine, Virgo and Capricorn, potentially in a more harmonic way despite the fact that this elemental energy and these signs do not really mix well with these aerial energies. Then Scorpio in Opposition, exaltation sign of the planet this time, risking to “suffer” quite a lot from the restraints of this transit and from the sudden revelations it carries, even if it will be very emancipating for these Suns…
I’d think we should break this transit down into at least three parts :
+2018 / 2020, the Earth energy also dominates this period by the Capricorn influences (Saturn, Pluto, south node, Jupiter), even if the trine is not exact all the time with all these elements, it remains that it is a trine energy which is released and which has harmonic parts (even if they are attenuated by the fall of the planet).
+2020 / 2023 Saturn goes in Aquarius, uranus’ ruler (and traditional saturn’s ruler by the way), thus forming quadrature there is a more direct confrontation between the parts of crystallization, security, and the parts of emancipation, of freedom, it is there that the duality that I evoked above risks to turn at full speed.
+2023 / 2026, Saturn’s exit from Aquarius, on the other hand Pluto’s entry in this same sign ! But the planets will be more in dissociated trine energy, also it could be rather particular, because they also are energies which usually clash in the zodiac but find some surprising mediations, the Scorpios will be directly the most concerned…

EDIT : one month after this planet entered the sign, it’s quite impressive the number of electrical problems that I’m reported to have… Either due to lightning, power surges, burnt-out meters, breakdowns, electronic problems… For a fall position of the planet we can say that it hasn’t lost its power !
