Venus’ previous Retrograde motion took place in Capricorn in December 2021 and early 2022, where it was very insistent in conjunction with Pluto’s transit.
And the one in 2025 will be much more insistent, in conjunction with the Neptune and Saturn transits, which are therefore at the very end of Pisces, in the process of being gradually reconfigured in the colors of Aries…
Neptunian valuation of the period
The Venusian retrograde loop begins to set in from the end of January, around the new moon in Aquarius on the 29th, and as Venus forms its first conjunction to Neptune’s transit.
Be sure to analyze what’s already happening at this time, as it’s likely to be an important part of this retrograde phase.
For example, if new encounters are made at this time, they can be much more easily idealized, or fantasized about, and we can symbolically set a high expectation for the other person, placing him or her on a pedestal.
But beware of illusions and confusions, which are also possible, and which can also mean that the other person is “abusing” our kindness, devotion and compassion.
With this type of Neptunian force having such a strong influence on the Venusian value system, it can be difficult to know where to place the cursor, between receptive emotional forces which are greatly exacerbated, and the limits to be placed on them in order to materialize them in the best possible way.
This can still be a very useful step if, for example, you need to “ take care of someone ” close to you, to look after him or her and prove your love and attachment through your sacrifice.
This can also be very useful for personalities with an artistic soul, which can be exploited more strongly and powerfully thanks to this Venusian retrograde motion that is about to set in.
In this month of February 2025, there’s this triple conjunction of Neptune / South Node and Venus that needs to be managed and that dominates the period a lot, which can really indicate a sensitive triggering factor around this Neptunian function and the karmic realization of our birth North Node, since the North Node in transit inevitably resonates this one too.
Maybe we need to get closer to a vocation at this point, to something that “makes sense” for us, depending also very much on how we express our natal Neptunian energies, what they mean to us, what they imply.
The Neptunian forces always have this double facet of representing what is very beautiful, universal, absolute and transcendent, but also of creating confusion, perdition and psychic instability, so they can be more of a revelation of this at the present time, and in what this can imply in terms of refocusing on our karmic destiny for each and every one of us.
A beautiful Neptunian facet also lies in its logic of forgiveness, renunciation, detachment and acceptance, which may be part of the spiritualization demanded by these forces at this moment (placing oneself in the hands of that which is greater than us).
These remain very “dissolving” energies, and may be part of the Venusian “crisis of values” that sets in from here on.
Be sure to analyze what’s going on from the end of January and the beginning of February, because it could have a very important resonance throughout the Venusian retrograde loop!
Likewise, make sure you analyze what’s going on between February 24, 2025 and the beginning of March, since this is a time when Mars in Cancer is back in direct motion, which can lift certain introversions, and in particular enable you to make decisions, make a choice or initiate an action…
Course of Venus retrograde in Aries in 2025
Venus will therefore go retrograde around March 02, 2025 at 10° Aries, shortly after the February 28 new moon in Pisces, and as it also tends to be under the influence of the asteroid Chiron in the same sign at 21°.
There may be a symbolism here that requires you to work more directly on a wound, whether emotional or physical, in relation to your health.
I give here the interpretation of this degree that I established in my astrological oracle of zodiac degrees:
“Suffering, like a thorn in the virtuous finger, reminds us that even the most beautiful experiences or behaviors have their pitfalls.”
This can underline more directly that, even if we have the best of intentions (Neptune in this case), we can find ourselves faced with imponderable difficulties that create suffering, anger, violence, injustice, impatience, etc. etc.
And so there may be a phase lasting several weeks which requires you to work on these elements, to better digest and integrate them, and also to sublimate them (go beyond them).

The 2nd decade of March can be the most sensitive in terms of relational crises. For example, there could be an important discussion, an argument, which raises anger, but which I think is still quite constructive (we see both Venus retrograde, which will be conjunct Mercury about to go retrograde too, which helps deepen communication and understanding, and we also see the Sun conjunct Saturn, which helps maturity and responsibility).
At the end of March, Venus retrograde will find its conjunction to Neptune, which is about to pass through Aries in the long term, a very sensitive and important phase of progress, since there’s a change of elemental color, for the Martian Fire of this sign! (I’ll have the opportunity to discuss the influences of this Neptunian passage in a dedicated post).
This may bring back to the front certain points made at the end of January and beginning of February, asking you to go into them in greater depth, to better appropriate them and perhaps externalize them. In any case, Neptune in Aries will help a great deal in triggering this, especially around the new moon on March 29…
April 2025 is still a very important month of the year, with a very important unblocking charge, especially from the 2nd decade onwards, when Venus will resume its direct motion, a few days after Mercury, which may indicate an important period of “ removal of introversions ”.
Venus, Mercury and even Mars, all of which have been in retrograde motion, even for several months in the case of the Martian forces, this may well open the floodgates in mid-April and unblock configurations that have been sticky since the mid-term…
So really try to spot this period and maximize it as best you can according to your own projects and your own bith influences, as it forms an important dynamic for the whole of 2025! (which is likely to last for many months to come).
In any case, if you’ve been held back or hindered in previous months, this mid-April could really be a wave of change…

On the other hand, Venus won’t emerge from the retrograde loop until mid-May 2025, so some elements, depending on your birth chart, may need a little time to regain a better dynamic.
