This lunation chart was drawn up at the exact moment of the Sun/Moon conjunction on January 13, 2021. It gives the “general” astral trends for the coming month mainly based on the Aspects and Signs of the zodiac.
This study should be nuanced by connecting it to your birth chart and to your Transits and Progressions using predictive techniques.

The Uranian wave: here we go!
The most important aspect of this new Moon is obviously how it highlights Pluto in its immediate vicinity! (this Conjunction is very narrow, and this is a very powerful aspect)
A Plutonian influence such as this one accentuates sharp, transformative energies of “death/rebirth”, and it intensifies the highly divisive and “before/after” contrast of this period of time, but also some potentially destructive, violent, acidic, and corrosive forces…
We can clearly see that the sky this January is really not simple: I discussed this several months ago, notably in my articles about the transits of Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius, the Black Moon in Taurus, Lunations, etc.
Here we go! The promised Uranian wave is taking shape now! And we can see that the rest of the sky very tense.
The social planets, Jupiter and Saturn, now fully in Aquarius’s 1st decan, collide in a square with Uranus in Taurus, which rules them for the time being; this intensifies the notions of social tensions, confrontations with reality, the search for emancipation, reform, change, and the more traditional, security-focused, conservative forces…
In fact, it seems very much as if, in the duality between “security and freedom”, change is imposed out of necessity, and this really gives you no choice, even if it means just gritting your teeth (all the 1st decans of the Fixed Cross will be particularly tense during this time period, so not only Aquarius and Taurus, but also Leo and Scorpio!)
The planet Mars also comes into direct contact with Uranus and the Black Moon in their transits, at the beginning of Taurus. The Moon is the other faster planet, and it is in fact more likely to come and set fire to the gunpowder of this configuration…
We can truly say that the second decan of January 2021 conceals a very important and powerful triggering factor!
Let’s recall that in March 2020, it was the arrival of Mars’s transit in the Capricorn stellium (which already included Pluto/Saturn/Jupiter) that shed much light on the situation and officially triggered the coronavirus crisis, the revelation of the pandemic on a global level, and the lockdown of some countries or regions.
Obviously, it cannot be denied that this aspect may continue to affect this initial subject in various ways, because the same astrological factors are involved again, and it may therefore constitute an evolutionary pattern of the conjunction of the Capricorn stellium.
Here it’s no longer a question of a conjunction, but rather an increasing square aspect, which is fully active, and therefore has energy that is particularly symbolic of “breaking the inertia” and facing up to a test that constitutes a step up in the cycle. It’s a phase that is by its very nature both “creative” (since it’s ultimately there to force something to be liberated), but also “violent” (since it never really occurs peacefully, instead more likely taking place in the context of struggles, confrontations, battles, and other efforts to sway the balance of power).
This said, even though we often consider Uranian energies to be “sudden and brief” in nature, where things appear, explode, and reveal themselves like a lightning bolt, I think that here we can call this configuration “the straw that broke the camel’s back”…
It’s likely that we could really feel these energies “rising” in previous months, in different ways, and that what explodes there in mid-January will not really be a complete surprise coming out of nowhere!
But Uranus should not be underestimated either, and the paths that will be taken to create these changes and reforms may be surprising! This may be because, even if we perceived the initial tensions at the first, we did not expect certain consequences that nevertheless become inevitable…
Beyond the whole “crisis of values” that seems inevitable during this period of time, whether at a personal or social level, it requires a change of paradigm, questioning previous attachments, perhaps at the same time accepting certain losses or renunciations, and also understanding that if we want to get closer to our fundamental ideals and authenticity, this requires sacrifices, accepting that we cannot be in a system where we have “everything” at the same time, and that it’s necessary to be able to get out of certain patterns in order to focus on what is really the most essential and fundamental!
And here again what is most important will in the medium term occur by way of a revolution galvanized by the forces of liberation and emancipation, by us redefining our “Freedom” both personally and collectively (but be careful that people don’t take advantage of this by imposing their own definition of it on us!)
So, to sum up, I advise that the utmost overall care be taken during this period of time, and also, for everyone, for a large 2nd decan of January, and even until the full moon of January 28, 2021, probably, we’ll have to be aware of all of the forces that I have just detailed in the context of any plans that you would like to make and/or carry out.
This full moon will also be the culmination of these tensions, and we can assume that from this point on, the worst of the storm will have passed, and that it will progressively subside…
On the other hand, we should not be under any illusions either: what will be stirred up in January is not the kind of small astral influence that passes quickly, but rather the kind of earthquake that causes shifts in the deepest tectonic plates, and which can therefore instill subsequent changes in the medium or long term, even throughout all of 2021!
It’s very likely that what will emerge there will have to be developed over the course of many of the following months and that it will truly be an important new Moon for the year; the seeds of potential changes will be really maximized during the first quarter (by choice or out of necessity), and so it’s advisable to consciously express these forces as much as possible, if possible to determining yourself beforehand what the most optimal translations for them would be based on your own birth chart.
