Understand the triangle of Incarnation

It can be considered that each incarnation is based on a key function, on a fundamental and primary goal… For sure birth chart as a whole tells about the personality and its achievement, the “blueprint” to be achieved over one’s life span. But what is called Individuation is indeed a “call” that comes from somewhere and when exploring the origin of it, one inevitably comes across three fundamental and structural elements of the birth chart : the sun, the black moon and the north node.
These 3 points constitute the triangle of the incarnation, each of the three specify both an innate basis and in the same time a goal to be achieved…

From seed to tree…

The Sun truly represents the Spirit from which springs the inspiration of incarnation, it represents simultaneously our individuality, the way we shine in the world and a goal to be achieved during one’s life.

It can be said that “one IS” one’s sun and that one has to incarnate it, to become and perfect it.
Main energy comes out from the sun and is passed on to all the other planets in order to be transformed and qualified. The sun is the heart of the chart.

The sun represents love, will, vitality and the vital energy that connects us to God, it “powers” Samsara it’s its fuel. In a way one could say that it’s the main representative of the karma, of the Flame that is passed on and without which nothing can be built up.

The sun is what makes us feel different, what produces the feeling of being an exceptional piece in the universe, sometimes even as separated from it and the deep purpose of any incarnation is to find out a primordial unity with the universal monad.

It also compel us to rise up, to improve, to evolve, to individuate and to transcend self in order to become the best version ever of ourselves, by, with and through love.
The archetype in which it’s found represents thus a sort of software, a psychological scheme which animates us.

The Black moon is the germ of incarnation, a driving force that may represent in some way part of the solar software coding, part of the final goal which is behind our existence. It represents both an interest and even more an attraction, a realisation impulse (related to its placement in the birth chart), but at the same time it represents a fear and a repulsion to achieve that impulse, so its symbol is really very significant and often painful, hard to recognize and accept (sometimes source of great blockages and Complexes).

It must be correlated with the South Node as both are the karmic “innate foundations” of our existence.
The black moon will thus somehow condition itself to the sun, bringing to it deep “qualities”, nuances of accomplishment (asking to succeed in rejecting certain things), creating at the same time introversions, distress, a feeling of inferiority concerning its signification in the natal chart, but thus impelling the necessary sublimation that corresponds to it, pulsing a need for conquest to overturn the balance, and in the best of cases converting fragility into strength.

In this sense, the black moon is what compels us to evolve, to move to the next level, to purge the sun of the karmic remains attached to it, thus emancipating us from a fatality.
Of course, this process is not restful, it implies a quite often intense psychological struggle, a form of emotional crisis based on a lack of security or a rejection of certain values, but it allows a strong and rapid maturation (during the whole incarnation) around a specific subject (raison d’être of the incarnation).

Planets cunjuncted to the black moon add their own energies into this whirlwind, which implies either a lack or an over-enhancing of them in order to overcompensate. Typically, a planet in this aspect can bring many losses, pains, fatalities, it will have to be sublimated, transcended, but this energy conceals a very large evolutionary potential which really has “motivated” the goal of this incarnation.

Often, the black moon influences our birth charts with diametrically opposite effects, it will ask for both everything and its opposite in its area of action, in what it touches, and it’s by consciously accompanying it, understanding and externalizing, that this will allow a “purge” as painless as possible.

Transits of black moon must be combined in the view of Nord Node realization, the two of them are correlated, what the black moon raises in its transits aims to bring us karmically closer to Norh Node little by little. Its rapid cycle of about 9 years is nevertheless very short and brings us a large quantity of material to integrate in our evolution, our understanding, it really represents a very dynamic aspect, vector of karmic changes.

The north node represents above all an axis of development, something to be understood and conquered by the personality during this present life, therefore by definition something that is “lacking” (from which one often feels distant, at least at the beginning of one’s life), or at least that needs to be considerably deepened in this life.

By definition, its access, expression, realization, are difficult elements, often not very spontaneous, which require efforts, time, and often reveal themselves only as the incarnation progresses, sometimes at a quite advanced age.

Planets in conjunction to it often represent energies that are as if “put in brackets” (which can also be very paralyzing and disabling), planetary qualities that need to be developed, better understood and better used, because they are basically too abstract or deviated in their use by the native.
In this sense, the north node represents in the same time a path, a discovery, a destination, it’s really there to guide us in what the sun must achieve and in what the black moon must sublimate…

In absolute terms, these 3 factors must really be looked at simultaneously because they are interdependent, their individual realizations are correlated to one another, for example solar realization cannot be isolated from karmic realizations, since there is only one unique realization for the person, which really encompasses a synthesis of these 3 factors.

Often one tends to focus much on the Sun because it is what is most familiar in regard to one’s Zodiac Sign and it is really the heart of the chart, but the Black Moon should not be neglected as a deep and sensitive root, and the north node is useful to us as an objective, as a compass needle to understand which qualities to develop in a karmically coherent way.

What is to do in order to realize at best one’s triangle of incarnation ?

Different lines of investigation are possible depending on the nature of each birth chart, but it can be pointed that the main one is based on the classification of the Planets (even if we should obviously not be stucked on these considerations but always keep in mind the dynamic aspect of astrology).

One’s sun implementation needs questioning a lot one’s ego, which implies very much the valorization of the personal planets (Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars), it’s a basically and exclusively psychological perspective giving access to the first understanding underlying the continuation.

The black moon focuses very much on the social planets, both Jupiter (which can represent its opposite in a way), and Saturn (which can give it a favourable ground for its structuring). We can also add Mars, which is a planet that, by its intrinsic nature, is at the root of all actions and which corresponds very much to the “sharp and cutting” aspect that is often attributed to the black moon.

In turn, the north node focuses more on the transpersonal planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) in the sense that it also asks us to go “beyond” our person, our individuality, to pick up new subtle parts with which we are not familiar, to metamorphose ourselves.

Quite often, these different factors may be a source of much questioning for the psyche, they produce a quest for meaning in the native, and in order to be able to express themselves, they very often need to be destabilized, caught off guard, which goes through periods of crisis that are akin to Depression (the latter being fundamentally only one phase of the evolutionary process of Individuation).

Considering these factors, each of us obviously has a different pattern of realization, it’s necessary to be particularly attentive to the different Progressions and Transits that will enamel lifetime and update more or less some of them, sometimes through a ripple effect.
