New Moon of December 23, 2022 in Capricorn

This lunation chart was drawn up at the exact moment of the Sun / Moon conjunction on December 23, 2022, it gives the “general” astral trends for the coming month mainly based on the Aspects and Signs of the zodiac.

The beginning of the end of the tunnel?

This last new Moon of 2022 is a “super new Moon”, meaning that the transit of the Moon is really at its perigee, implying that it is at its closest to the Earth at this time, it is a priori more “bright and big”, so people particularly sensitive to lunar forces are also likely to feel it more strongly…

This new moon really operates in the sign of Capricorn, on its very first degree, a degree that is always more particularly energetic (link to the anaretic degree, the 29th, of course) and at the frank square of the planet Jupiter, which has only just returned to the beginning of Aries since the end of the last lunation of November.

Jupiter returned to direct motion fairly recently towards the end of November, and has had time in the last month to regain a fair amount of velocity!

By finding again the Fire of Aries, it is obviously not to be neglected socially, it can help certain dynamics which could have remained in suspense since the months of May and June especially, when the planet made its first incursion into this sign, certain things awakened at that time could thus return to the front of the stage from now on, at the end of this year and especially at the beginning of 2023, in order to be in a way “finalised”…

There may be quite a few “unblocking energies” at work throughout this lunation, with a kind of “feeling of acceleration”, especially from the Full Moon of January 7 onwards, and if things have remained on stand-by, somewhat by force of fatality, delays, constraints and limitations, they will be able to assert themselves better and become more dynamic during this first quarter of 2023.

Don’t forget that Mars is still retrograde over the first decan of Gemini, the planet insists on it in stationary phase, which may bring us back to points having been raised initially around early September 2022 in its cycle during its first transit, see what I also mention about the new moon of August 27 in Virgo.

The end of the year will have been quite impacted by all these retrograde Martian forces, and clearly we won’t be unhappy to finally turn this page, and these forces, which are very “sticky” in more ways than one, from early 2023!

Mars won’t really go direct motion again until January 12, but that said, it shouldn’t be considered as an “on/off” switch either, it will still be quite numb from its stationary phase, and by the time it regains better velocity, it will easily mark the whole first quarter 2023!

We also see that Mercury will go retrograde in the 3rd decan of Capricorn at the beginning of the lunation around December 29, so again as if to signal a kind of “reminder” that we are not yet fully out of the retrograde phases, and that we need time, in the medium term, to implement what we want, or that part of an “inner process” still needs to be continued and is therefore not yet really finalised.

Fire and Air signs are likely to be very impatient during this period, and even if things get unblocked, they may feel that “it’s not going fast enough”, that there is always a setback and a new problem to add to their expectations, and this can be quite “tiring”, especially nervously of course…

Especially since the “phagocyting” of energies did not start yesterday, but has been going on for several months now, and this has inevitably produced “a fatigue” on the various psyches, whatever the sectors of life involved in each birth chart.

At the time I am writing these lines, i.e. around the beginning of September 2022, we can really feel a period of anxiety for many people, I have many testimonies in this sense, many points worrying the population, such as inflation, access to energy, etc., and it is a truly global phenomenon, which can be more than just a simple crisis to encompass even a profound change of paradigm (don’t forget that Pluto is not going to be long in starting its ascent of Aquarius from 2023 onwards).

The Full Moon of January 07, 2023 is fortunately quite harmonic in the fast moving transits, whether it’s, the Sun reaching the trine to north node/Uranus, or Venus passing into Aquarius and reaching the trine to Mars transiting Gemini, it’s always worth taking we will say! Even if in the orb of influence this will only concern a few days at most, the Uranian energies can help in particular with a form of emancipation or liberation…

It won’t necessarily be a miracle compared to the background period, but it may contribute to some short-term unblocking and to this kind of “accelerating” feeling of the first quarter (let’s try to be optimistic at least on this point).

Note, however, that in this full moon phase, the moon underlines in conjunction the transit of the Black Moon which is on the anaretic degree of Cancer, which further confirms much of a karmic page-turner on things that may have been awakened since April 2022!

There is a maximised recapitulation load on the various points raised since spring 2022, and this Black Moon passing rapidly through Leo, in this half of the lunation, adds yet another welcome Fire dynamic to forge even a whole dynamic of personal affirmation, the establishment of a new project, better self-esteem, etc etc…

It’s just that there is still a certain amount of possible inertia (the time to get rid of all the “glue” accumulated over the last few months), and that depending on one’s birth chart, it may well take the whole of the first quarter to get a better feel for it, but I’ll have the opportunity to come back in more depth in dedicated articles.
