Description of Pluto in Transit Through the Houses and Signs of the Zodiac

Be careful not to confuse your natal Pluto in your birth chart (see in particular here Pluto in signs and houses in the birth chart) with the Transits of Pluto through signs and houses referring to the planet’s yearly journey as I may describe it in the various lunations and in the premium articles.

Pluto moves at an extremely slow pace and follows a rather elliptical orbit, which means it does not spend the same number of years in each zodiac sign.
This varying velocity can itself be interpreted, even though the planet takes approximately 248 years to complete one full revolution of the zodiac (so at the present stage of human evolution, no one has ever experienced a complete cycle).

It is therefore a very slow, very powerful and deeply transformative transit of the individuality.
It embodies an alchemical process of Calcinatio, coming to force the destruction of what is no longer useful in order to transform oneself differently.

In this sense, its effects can at times be quite destructive. It truly carries the nature of a “before / after” metamorphosis.
It is linked to reclaiming personal power over oneself; it is Nietzsche’s “what does not kill us makes us stronger”.

Among the interesting books on Pluto, one may recommend Jeff Green’s “Pluto, The Evolutionary Journey of the Soul”, a true bible on this planet.

One should allow approximately three years in terms of orb of influence for the aspects, meaning that Plutonian forces truly possess a certain depth that must not be overlooked and should be carefully taken into account in interpretations…
