The Sun Transiting Virgo

These are global Transit energies that must be carefully nuanced according to your personal birth chart; see articles on the Sun in transit for reference.
For an interpretation of the Sun in your own birth chart, see the Zodiac Signs.
The Sun is one of the attributes of the Animus in the chart, and as such, it can indicate a Projection of these masculine energies.
It also often provides information about the father, or the native’s husband, or the leader, manifesting qualities colored by the sign it occupies.

Virgo: a time of self-questioning and reassessment…

When the Sun transits Virgo (by analogy with the Sun transiting the 6th House), this period highlights work, while our concern for detail and efficiency is heightened. The mind becomes more analytical, pragmatic, and practical.

It can be a time well used for awareness and analysis, for reflecting on organization and logistics in order to improve them, for taking care of chores, and for dealing with matters that have been postponed for far too long, as well as for overcoming crises.
In a way, this phase can serve as a kind of “pre-assessment” of the calendar year, helping to determine the nature of recent experiences and how they are being integrated into the personality.

Helpfulness and a general sense of service are also emphasized. Daily work plays a major role in personal fulfillment and in the need for recognition; there is a strong desire to feel socially useful, to take pride in one’s role and contribution within society.

Beware of burnout, which can also lurk during this period. Professional exhaustion may arise more easily, as one struggles to say “no” and believes it possible to handle everything, to assume all responsibilities like a conscientious and perfectionist manager, without realizing that an overwhelming and inhuman workload is being accumulated, to the detriment of other areas of life (family, friends, leisure, love).

As a result, it becomes especially important during this time to feel comfortable with what one is doing and where one stands, particularly in one’s work (or main social occupation in a broader sense).
If this is not the case, frustrations may surface and become dominant, eventually leading to a desire for change, a search for a new direction in which one can truly express their full potential and motivations, and develop new skills more aligned with their deeper nature.

During this transit, there is also often a strong need for planning as a way to counter latent stress and anxiety. Indeed, while one may be more critical of others and of oneself, there is also increased sensitivity to external criticism.
Self-doubt and self-devaluation can arise more easily, and self-confidence tends to be less spontaneous.

Moreover, the Sun transiting Virgo is a favorable period for taking care of the body and one’s health, and for establishing better lifestyle habits: new resolutions, dietary changes, taking up a new sport, giving up toxic habits (smoking, alcohol, etc).
“A sound mind in a sound body” (“Mens sana in corpore sano”): the mind encourages bodily purification, and the deeper, practical meaning of well-being becomes clearer.

In short, under this transit, order must be brought into one’s life on every level. That is the guiding principle: sorting out and discerning what should be kept, and what must be discarded, revised, or corrected.
