Transit: Black Moon in Capricorne 2026/2027

Note that I am using here the mean position of the Black moon, the one that, in my view, proves most meaningful in most classic cases.
But keep in mind that when working with the black moon, we should think in terms of a “zone”, rather than viewing it as a fixed material point.

The Black moon transit thus shifts into Capricorn around September 15, 2026, and remains rather potent in this Saturn-ruled sign, where its cold, dry, brittle, cutting nature can express itself more readily.

Capricorn is an archetype that strongly focuses on the “social function”, socioprofessional achievement, the expression of our ambitions at work, and the attainment of recognition from our peers, and the black moon can therefore favor certain triggers, or certain mechanisms of overcompensation around all of this.

This is therefore worth considering: if, for example, you have a raise to request from your boss, or if you wish to launch a new activity, add a new string to your bow, or undertake a career shift, the black moon can bring here the maturity, responsibility, seriousness, and rigor.

It tends to bring a more “material” force, so it remains interesting for any concretization and achievement, helping one take the leap, make decisive cuts, notably to translate more effectively the ideals it may have motivated while ascending through Sagittarius previously, by calling one to align more closely with the expression of a vocation, of one’s Ikigai…

Main Signs Impacted During This Transit:

All Cardinal signs: Capricorn, Cancer, Aries, and Libra.

Opportunities for Professional Change

From September 15, 2026, to December 13, 2026, the Black moon ascends through the 1st decan of Capricorn, and here it encounters significant tension from the waning square to Neptune and Saturn, which are retrograding in the 1st decan of Aries.

It’s important to understand that the retrogradation of these planets represents a form of pause or breathing space for them, a preparatory phase, thus perhaps also more introspective.

This Saturn/Neptune conjunction has been in place since early summer 2025 and will have left a profound mark well into 2026, notably in significant ways during late winter and early spring 2026, as I’ve discussed in various lunation articles.
But we are now approaching the close of these conjunctive influences…

It’s as though there is a charge of review and recapitulation around these forces, and that the waning black moon arrives to help us cut through / finalize certain of these elements one last time.

This may place us more directly face-to-face with the question: how have we understood and materialized Neptunian energies across 2025 and 2026 ?

Were we able to leverage them professionally in a new impetus ? Or did they prove more a vector of confusion, material difficulties, or disorientation ?

The black moon comes, a priori, to help us definitively turn this page, the waning square carrying a certain charge of integration not to be overlooked.
This may feel all the more potent once Saturn and Neptune resume direct motion, i.e., from December 10, 2026, onward (unblocking and acceleration will become possible at that point if you are sensitive to the 1st decan).

Much therefore depends on whether you are receptive to Neptunian energies in your birth chart, and on how they express themselves for you, to determine whether you will truly be sensitive to this black moon transit during this period or not.

From December 13, 2026, the black moon shifts into the 2nd decan of Capricorn until March 13, 2027, and it is especially the waning square to the Saturn transit in Aries that remains focalized by this passage, and which will continue to be so throughout the remainder of this transit.

As Saturn has resumed direct motion, the planet progressively regains velocity and is accompanied for several weeks by the black moon’s ascent…

This is all the more sensitive given that Saturn is its ruler via Capricorn, and that Saturn also remains weakened here in its fall sign of Aries.

Here, then, it does not seem to be a “sudden and cutting” trigger that is at play, but rather a snag that may stretch out over time, and which also appears linked to the retrograde motion of the Mars transit in Virgo (ruling planet of Aries), which will be fully operative during this period.
I will have the opportunity to return to this in a dedicated article, of course.

It is possible here that the black moon highlights, for instance, a mechanism of confrontation with authority, and that socioprofessional questions demand more time, more effort at this moment (risks of delays, of obstacles thrown in one’s path).

This can weigh on personal assertion and self-confidence, and unfortunately, it may last several weeks, during which one may need to practice patience, to bite one’s tongue, because it will be difficult to mobilize one’s full strength, or simply because one won’t have all the cards in hand to move things forward as desired (one will depend on third parties or administration, who won’t be in a hurry).

And it may be necessary to wait until around March 2027 to begin recovering a better dynamic on these fronts.

From March 13, 2027, the black moon enters the 3rd decan of Capricorn, remaining there until approximately June 11, 2027, when it will shift into Aquarius.

Here, the black moon does not necessarily form another major underlying aspect, but the waning square to Saturn remains partially operative, albeit in a wider orb !

The positive point, also, is that Mars will have time to resume direct motion around early April 2027, so the black moon can more readily regain its cutting dynamic, its support for decision-making and impetus, picking up steam once more.

Thus, if you have natal planets in the 3rd decans of Cardinal signs, you will a priori be better equipped during this period to structure your projects and confront figures of authority.

But a priori, it will be necessary to await the developments of spring for this, to better activate and concretize your socioprofessional achievements…
