New Moon of October 21, 2025 in Libra

This article has been published as a preview in Premium Subscription.

This lunation chart was drawn up at the exact moment of the Sun / Moon conjunction on October 21, 2025, it gives the broader astrological trends for the coming month mainly based on the Aspects and Signs of the zodiac.
This study must be nuanced by bringing it closer to your birth chart, and to your Transits and Progressions for Forecasts.

Main signs impacted during the lunation:

Especially the 3rd decan.

Power Struggles and Emancipation

This new moon forms the apex of a Grand Cross with Jupiter, Pluto, and Chiron, creating significant tension with planets that mainly represent different facets of “power”.

Jupiter mainly embodies social power, expressed through integration into the collective, while Pluto represents more psychological and esoteric, hidden power, channeling forces of transformation.

There may therefore be a more significant step to take during this period regarding these polarities — perhaps in the form of a “test”, something requiring us to confront ourselves in order to express personal affirmation or prove our worth.

This won’t necessarily be easy and may require a strong sense of emancipation, especially from those trying to impose domination — whether in the workplace or in personal life, such as a relative or a romantic partner who may try to manipulate (something we might have felt “building up” since the last full moon on October 7, 2025).

The other major astrological event of the period that strongly stands out on the chart is the triple conjunction of Black moon, Mercury and Mars, operating in Scorpio and forming a Grand Trine with Jupiter and Saturn / Neptune!

This triple conjunction carries the energy of a situation that may, for example, demand an important conversation — one where arguments need to be sharp and boldness may pay off — but it also has a “cutting” edge due to black moon’s involvement.

Perhaps we’re reaching the end of a reflection and need to finalize a decision or take action. There may be no turning back, and circumstances push us up against the wall during this lunation (perhaps even for our own good, to force change).

This also appears to have mostly socio-professional implications, but it could just as easily apply to relationships, helping us better filter the people around us.

This lunation seems highly energetic and sharp, especially during its first few days and up to the first quarter (around October 29), though we might have felt it “rising” since the last full moon.

The second quarter of the lunation sees Mercury and Mars strongly opposing Uranus transiting Gemini, which may heighten the electric and emancipatory nature of this planet — including, for instance, the need to challenge authority, confront a superior, or rebel against the established order…

The full moon of November 5, 2025 will be a “super moon”, as it is particularly close to earth (apparently the closest of the entire year 2025), so people who are highly emotionally sensitive, especially to lunar energies (particularly women), may be especially affected by this phase — with heightened emotions, but also potential confusion or insecurity/instability (perhaps because confrontation with authority could reach a peak).

The second half of the lunation will be marked by Mercury’s retrograde starting in early Sagittarius from November 9, strongly emphasizing the opposition to Uranus in Gemini!

This push for emancipation may take longer and require more reflection than expected, possibly with delays or harder-to-manage communication (misunderstandings, miscommunications), so extra effort will be needed to communicate clearly during this time.

Try to avoid signing contracts in the second half of the lunation or rushing into things too hastily or impulsively, as your counterpart may try to impose their pace on you.

Mercury’s retrograde is, in any case, strongly energized by its conjunction with Mars, so we’re not without defenses or means to stand up for ourselves — but that doesn’t mean we can skip taking time to reflect properly.

Things should become much clearer from the new moon of November 20, 2025, so it’s better to wait until then to begin making decisive moves, even though Mercury won’t go direct until November 29.

Note that Mercury’s retrograde will strongly emphasize the transit of Black moon in the 3rd decan of Scorpio, so I encourage you to read the article where I cover this topic to see if you’re particularly sensitive to it — the period may then be especially important for you.
