This is a medium to long-term transit (approximately three years per sign), which imposes discipline, responsibility, maturity, structure, and completion.
Saturn is one of the primary and essential attributes of the Animus, particularly its paternal dimension, what modern psychology would call the “critical parent” (the authoritarian parent who sets rules and boundaries), and is also associated with authority figures, the state, leadership, or an older person.
In this respect, the planet may indicate a projection of such figures, expressing qualities colored by the sign it occupies.
Its transit should not be feared more than any other; what truly matters is understanding the deeper evolutionary process it is asking of you.
Structuring Individuality
Saturnian energies remain in detriment in this sector (a condition that began with the passage through Cancer / the 4th House), and here they tend to weigh on the structuring of individuality, this time acting upon solar forces and bringing a substantial dose of Earth to them.
After what Saturn may have required us to purge in connection with family energies, our foundations, and our roots, the planet may now ask us to consciously determine what should be carried forward from this inheritance (perhaps even through a stronger focus on one’s children, their upbringing, and related matters).
There are two main axes through which the planet may express itself here :
+On the challenging side, Saturn may weigh on self-confidence, causing doubts about one’s personal qualities or creative strengths, in a sense dimming the radiance of our Sun.
It asks for greater seriousness, maturity, introversion, and responsibility, while also requiring us to confront our Shadow (in the Jungian sense of the term).
+On the constructive side, however, this transit can genuinely help structure individuality.
It asks solar forces to put an end to dispersion, dissolution, trivial pursuits, or complaint, and instead to build something solid, to focus, and to move more consciously toward processes of Individuation.
From the perspective of alchemical processes, this Saturnian transit may represent at present a very important force of Coagulatio, which is essential for the formation of the “Philosopher’s Stone”, through a reconstruction or crystallization of individuality following the passage of longer-term dissolving forces.
Within this framework, the transit can therefore be particularly useful for materializing a project or undertaking.
It offers a time window in which to “give form” to personal qualities, especially those that distinguish us from others, in a more concrete, practical, and pragmatic way (placing one’s seriousness at the forefront).
When Saturn transits Leo or the 5th House, one may come to realize more clearly that, at the deepest level, things ultimately depend only on oneself. Waiting for others serves little purpose; even if this brings a certain solitude, it at least ensures that successes and failures do not depend on anyone else, while also prompting reflection on the seriousness of one’s relationships and social or professional sphere.
With this transit, it is therefore important to observe whatever one may create, or whatever has already been created, because what begins to germinate during this period may eventually achieve far greater visibility and social recognition when Saturn later reaches its culmination in the sky in the 10th House, the Midheaven, many years from now.
This transit thus represents in many ways a “test of reality” for individuality.
It may relate closely to the Nietzschean notion that “what does not kill us makes us stronger”.
Under such a sky, it may therefore be useful to analyze in parallel what Pluto’s transit is indicating, since it also forms part of the Shadow that may be expressed during this period and relates to processes of purification that may operate within the personality.

Note that, through Projection mechanisms, these Saturnian energies may also be expressed through an encounter with someone, perhaps an older or more mature individual, or simply someone strongly marked by the Capricorn archetype, who may help or guide the evolutionary work described above.
Within this context, such a person may also represent constraints or limitations that compel the process of structuring.
A transit of retrograde Saturn in the 5th House or in Leo is not particularly favorable to solar radiance during this period; it tends to emphasize inner work rather than outward self-expression.
