Note that in this case, we take into consideration the mean Black moon position, in my opinion, it appears to be the most meaningful in most classical cases. But keep in mind that when it comes to the Black moon we must see things with a “zonal” perspective (an area with an Orb), rather than as a fixed material point.
The Black moon truly enters Sagittarius at the very beginning of the new moon on December 20, 2025, also in Sagittarius, which can make this period feel more energetic around this karmic factor.
In this sign ruled by Jupiter, the Black moon remains very interesting for prompting us to question the “meaning” we give to things, to our life, to our present, and possibly to help us refocus on it if we feel like we’ve “lost our sense of purpose.”
It can therefore more easily trigger existential, spiritual, or philosophical crises, simply because it comes to “force” a realignment with the deep meaning we want to give to our existence, to our birth chart (and which is strongly linked to our incarnation triangle: Sun, Black moon, and lunar nodes).
This sense of meaning is often expressed through the entirety of our birth chart, which may bring awareness to the parts that have been most frustrated until now, and which now demand greater outward expression.
This can also have particularly interesting effects on everything related to our integration into the collective, in the broader sense, and may allow for greater social influence.

Refocusing on our true social goals
From December 20, 2025, to March 20, 2026, the Black moon moves through the 1st decan of Sagittarius, though without necessarily forming many major aspects with the rest of the sky.
It may thus act more as a background influence in a crisis of meaning—especially if you have birth planets involved, without frequently being triggered by major configurations.
It becomes more noticeable from the second half of February 2026, as many fast-moving transits enter Pisces and form increasing squares with it.
This is also when the Saturn/Neptune conjunction reforms in early Aries, so Neptune’s energies in particular can become very activated and present challenges of manifestation or expression. The Black moon can help break through a dynamic here (the new moon of February 17, 2026, is notable for this and also marks an eclipse).
This influence will continue through much of March 2026. Fire 1st decans appear especially sensitive and involved during this period and could creatively benefit from the energy.
Don’t overlook the karmic weight of this period either, as the lunar nodes are retrograding through the 1st decans of Virgo/Pisces, forming a square to the Black moon. This may indicate a major challenge or block, forcing a return to fundamental karmic goals of incarnation (so it’s a good time to reflect deeply on your own lunar nodes and Black moon).
From March 20, 2026, the Black moon enters the 2nd decan of Sagittarius until June 17, still without forming major aspects with the slow-moving cycles.
April’s third decade (end of the month) should be watched, as fast-moving planets enter Aries in trine —Mercury and Mars— very useful for initiating a creative endeavor, business, defense, or extraversion.
In early May 2026, Venus will oppose the Black moon, which may trigger relationship or emotional crises—perhaps even a sharp breakup or confrontation that forces a decision.
By the end of May, Mercury will also oppose the Black moon, likely leading to tense relational moments, heated discussions or power struggles may arise (which is very likely given the broader astrological context).
From June 17, 2026, the Black moon enters the 3rd decan of Sagittarius and still won’t form major aspects with slow cycles. It will be mostly shaped by fast-moving transits.
Notably in early July 2026, Venus in Leo will form a meaningful trine, potentially linked to an interesting karmic relationship or encounter.
But watch out for late July to early August, which appears much less “pleasant” due to a T-square involving the Black moon, Venus in Virgo, and Mars in Gemini!
This configuration looks much more tense emotionally and relationally and may lead to significant clashes. The Black moon will likely “cut through” what can no longer be tolerated, perhaps a partner crosses a line and is firmly put back in place.
From late August to September 14, 2026, the Black moon appears relatively harmonious as it ends its transit through Sagittarius, except possibly around September 9, when it receives squares from Mercury in Virgo and Neptune in Aries.
This back-to-school period is marked by astrological confusion overall, and the Black moon is no exception, it may intensify doubts and questions, especially related to socio-professional matters.
You may feel “out of place” and go to work reluctantly or with a sense of frustration (this seems especially relevant for the end of the Mutable 3rd decans and possibly the start of the Cardinal 1st decans).
