Jupiter enters Leo around June 30, 2026, which is always a sign of exaltation for this planet (as it is in Cancer as well), and where it may be even stronger and more expansive thanks to Fire being embodied through the Leonine archetype.
Jupiter will remain in this sign for roughly one year, until July 26, 2027, when the planet moves into Virgo.
Leo is indeed a radiant, warm sign, particularly well suited to Jupiter’s various forms of expansion.
This transit can therefore be very useful for expressing creativity, asserting self-confidence, and projecting oneself into the world (especially if Leo is emphasized in your own birth chart, of course).
Main signs impacted during this transit:
All Fire signs, namely Sagittarius and Aries as well, but also the other Fixed signs: Scorpio, Aquarius, and Taurus.
1st decan: power struggles
Shortly after entering Leo, Jupiter forms a sensitive T-square with transiting Pluto in Aquarius in opposition, and transiting Chiron in Taurus at the apex, and there is also a trine to Neptune in Aries, which particularly marks the month of July.
This is nevertheless a very tense configuration, where so-called “power” planets confront one another, even if they express that power in different ways.
It would not be surprising to see an increase in power struggles during this month, as well as revolts against certain forms of domination or authority figures.
In the various forecasting consultations I have conducted, I have noticed that the month of July often manifests in a complex and tense manner, and this is likely to be quite sensitive for many people.
It’s important not to lose sight of the fact that one of Jupiter’s primary functions during its transit is to help us reconnect with the deeper meaning we wish to give to our existence.
Here, this process may act in a very compulsive way, and more easily spill over into violence.
If, in particular, one has endured a difficult situation in the preceding months, there will be strong energy this month to face it head-on, to confront it more directly in order to change things, or to change one’s way of dealing with them.
As Leo remains a rather proud and inherently self-assured archetype, it may feel easily wounded by a remark or by something it perceives as a lack of respect, and it will not let things slide easily, even if, at first glance, matters are likely to ease up more readily during the first half of August.
2nd decan: social recognition
Jupiter moves into the 2nd decan of Leo around August 14, 2026, where the planet expresses itself in a more harmonious way.
It’s notably joined by transiting Mercury during this period, and by late August / early September it tightens a trine with Saturn in Aries.
This can be very helpful if, for example, you need to develop communication skills or undertake a course of study.
The harmony between these two social planets is also particularly useful for structuring a socio-professional project, something that supports integration into the collective, helps gain recognition, or brings additional responsibility.
The 2nd decans are truly fortunate, as they benefit from a generally harmonious and constructive Jupiter transit, which should therefore be maximized accordingly, at least until the third ten-day period of September 2026.
3rd decan: caution around mid-November 2026
Jupiter enters the 3rd decan around October 3, 2026, where the planet will primarily have in its sights the important conjunction with the South Node, which has been moving back through Leo since the third ten-day period of August.
This conjunction becomes exact around mid-November 2026, and will even be a triple conjunction, as transiting Mars will also join the picture.
This mid-November period appears highly energetic on many levels, especially since we also see the transits of Venus and Mercury resuming direct motion after their retrograde phases.
There is a strong sense of “release” or “unblocking” here. If situations have become stuck or ossified in the preceding months, this period will bring the energy needed to break through and move forward differently.
Because the South Node is involved, this may also relate to karmic baggage, something long-standing, familiar, or inherited, that Jupiter and Mars bring into the spotlight, either to be exploited, transformed, or fundamentally changed.
In any case, with the Fire energies of Jupiter and Mars coming together in this way, dynamics of action, assertion, and confrontation will be strongly emphasized and can fully unfold from mid-November onward (or reach a culmination at that time).
From this point onward, Jupiter also reaches its stationary phase before turning retrograde for several months, meaning the planet will place long-term emphasis on the 3rd decan.
If you have many personal planets in the 3rd decans, you may be particularly sensitive to this.
Jupiter turns retrograde on December 13, 2026, so it’s advisable to wrap up key socio-professional issues or decisions before then (especially since transiting Mars will also begin to enter its own retrograde loop, which I will return to later).
Retrograde Jupiter will therefore place strong emphasis on the conjunction with the South Node through the first four months of 2027, between the end of the 2nd decan and the beginning of the 3rd (retrograde Mars will also return to conjunct the South Node).
This strongly confirms an insistence on purging karmic baggage, so it is crucial to carefully analyze what unfolds around mid-November, as it is likely to set the tone for several months afterward (in the background).
On the positive side, this can allow you to maximize qualities that are already well mastered; on the negative side, matters may take longer than expected, requiring patience (as Fire energies are more restrained during this period).
Jupiter resumes direct motion around April 13, 2027, which appears to be a harmonious period conducive to the return of Fire energy.
This will be particularly useful for structuring personal and socio-professional projects (we see Jupiter strongly emphasizing the trine with Saturn during this time).
The ascent through the 3rd decan of Leo until July 26, 2027 unfolds smoothly for Jupiter.
The planet regains good speed and forms no tense aspects with the background cycles, so it will be important to take advantage of this and maximize it if you are concerned.
