Saturn / Neptune conjunction rebound?
This new moon once again takes place in Virgo, at the end of the sign, and still within the orb of influence of a partial solar eclipse — we can see this through its conjunction with the South Node (it was mainly the full moon on September 7 that formed an exact lunar eclipse aligned with the nodal axis, and which could therefore have been highly energetic — we’re still riding that wave).
We see that this new moon forms a beautiful harmonious Grand Trine figure with Pluto and Uranus. The aspects are indeed somewhat dissociated, since the new moon is in Earth while those two transits are in Air signs, but they remain valid within a tight orb of influence. Moreover, this will resolve as early as September 22, when the Sun and Moon move into Libra.
This new moon also forms an opposition to Saturn / Neptune, again partially dissociated in terms of Neptune’s energies, but unlocking from the 22nd onward — ultimately forming a very powerful and sensitive kite pattern (that’s the general outline of the sky).
In any case, this is quite a pivotal new moon, sitting at the crossroads of many influences!
It could act as a particularly sensitive trigger during this time, and might be significant for anyone starting a new job, embarking on a new relationship or creative endeavor, experiencing a revelation, or undergoing a form of awakening or realization.
I wouldn’t be surprised if what unfolds during this lunation directly connects to seeds sown in late spring or early summer 2025 with the conjunction of Saturn and Neptune.
These two planets quickly entered retrograde phases, so they are now somewhat in a preparatory or consolidation mode regarding what began during their conjunction.
We can see that this period requires a major balancing act between Water and Earth forces — particularly with regard to the duality of “matter / spirit.”
So perhaps the conjunction of Saturnian and Neptunian forces came to awaken intuition, inspiration, imagination, ideals, or even confusion — but now, at the end of September and into October, it’s time to “get your hands dirty” and pragmatically ask, “How do I translate these energies into real, tangible action?”
There might be a step to climb toward expressing a personal calling — and this lunation seems to suggest that such a goal should not be selfish, but instead should benefit others. It could involve offering help, advice, support, charity, or care to someone else, for example.
Let’s not forget what a framework like Ikigai teaches: finding balance between what we love and what others need. That’s the real key to success and recognition. This period may push us more strongly to reflect on these themes — a powerful time for inner work in that regard.
Whether it’s with someone close or on a broader social/collective (or nonprofit) level, we shouldn’t underestimate the help and support we can offer during this time — the planetary energies are aligned with mutual aid and care in the present moment.
At the beginning of the lunation, there may even be a higher step to climb that demands emancipation and liberation. That’s something we can help others achieve — rather than trying to possess, limit, or hold them back, as some might try to do.
The full moon on October 7, 2025 will carry especially strong Plutonian energies — evidenced by Mercury entering Scorpio, joining Mars and the Black moon already in that sign.
These are favorable transits for deep psychological or psychoanalytic understanding, to see beneath the surface — beyond appearances — but they can also lead to intensified power struggles, so confrontational dynamics may become more pronounced (whether with a superior, a romantic partner, or someone trying to control or limit us).
And this theme might persist through the rest of the lunation, possibly reaching a climax with the next new moon in Libra! (I’ll have the chance to talk more about that then.)
We might find ourselves facing someone who tries to belittle us, devalue us, or make us doubt ourselves — and unfortunately, under the current sky, such influence might have a strong grip (watch out for increased risk of burnout at work, too).
