This lunation chart was drawn up at the exact moment of the Sun / Moon conjunction on January 18, 2026, it gives the broader astrological trends for the coming month mainly based on the Aspects and Signs of the zodiac.

Main signs impacted during the lunation:
Aquarius and the Fixed signs, as well as the 1st decans of the Cardinal signs and Pisces, especially during the last quarter of the lunation.
Maximize the First Half of the Lunation
This is a new moon chart that is particularly striking and energetic —very clear and largely harmonious— so it’s very interesting to start the year 2026!
We can see a stellium of fast-moving planets forming around Pluto between the end of Capricorn and the beginning of Aquarius, framing the new moon, and if you are sensitive to these areas in your birth chart, it may help you initiate a powerful dynamic of self-assertion, useful for creating, launching something new, etc.
The emancipatory forces also seem very strong at this time, with a series of trines formed with Uranus at the end of Taurus, making it a great time to gain independence or free oneself from a situation or relationship.
There is also a very distinct harmonious “bucket” pattern forming between this stellium, Saturn/Neptune, Uranus, and the Black moon, with many sextile and trine links, so what’s in motion at this time seems to unfold quite naturally and spontaneously, effortlessly even, perhaps like when fruit is ripe and simply falls from the tree without needing any extra action (especially during the first half of the lunation).
We can also see that the Black moon has just entered Sagittarius, so it’s “fresh” and full of energy to carve out new dynamics, as discussed in the dedicated article.
Don’t forget, as I already mentioned during the previous new moon at the end of December 2025, that the energies of the Saturn/Neptune conjunction, which will re-form during the first quarter of 2026, can largely “drive” the backdrop of this period.
These two planets have resumed direct motion and can strongly propel their dynamic, so this may bring back themes that first emerged in late spring and early summer 2025, when their conjunction began to form (and which couldn’t be finalized at that time or since).
As this had a significant impact globally, such as the war in the Middle East, there may be present-day resurgences of such events as well.
In any case, this looks like a favorable sky on a personal level for reconnecting with one’s vocation, ideals, the expression of a utopia, or the deeper meaning one wishes to give to life.
The entire first half of the lunation seems very dynamic for this! And it’s especially the sign of Aquarius that benefits the most, being carried by the dynamic of fast-moving phases that have all transitioned into it, which may lead to a series of activations, so this period might be anything but restful for this sign…
So if you have birth energies related to this or in Air signs, definitely make the most of late January and February to strike while the iron is hot.
The full moon of February 1st, 2026 doesn’t bring any major new insights, but it can mark a significant midpoint for already achieving some results or recognition.
In fact, the forces at play might be more about “confrontation” at that time and during the second half of the lunation (more about fighting for what one wants).
Emancipation must then be earned through effort, perhaps by also accepting some risks, something that presses on insecure areas but appears to be a necessary path that will ultimately pay off positively.
In the last quarter of the lunation, Neptunian forces may become increasingly important. We see the Saturn/Neptune conjunction tightening closely at the beginning of Aries, and the fast-moving phases enter Pisces, confirming a triggering factor there.
This may represent a challenge to materialize these forces, and it will remain very active at the next new moon, so I will have an opportunity to talk about it again.
