This lunation chart was drawn up at the exact moment of the Sun / Moon conjunction on July 14, 2026, it gives the broader astrological trends for the coming month mainly based on the Aspects and Signs of the zodiac.
This study must be nuanced by bringing it closer to your birth chart, and to your Transits and Progressions for Forecasts.
To help you, read my article interpreting the New moon and Full moon in houses.
Main signs impacted during the lunation:
All first decans.
Heightened Power Struggles
The New Moon highlights, through conjunction, the transit of Mercury, which has been retrograde since late June, since the last Full Moon, marking roughly the midpoint of its retrograde cycle.
This should therefore be considered according to how this Mercury retrograde expresses itself for you, in which house it falls, and through the delays and setbacks it may generate.
This New Moon nonetheless remains an interesting phase for certain realizations, and above all for attempting to initiate a new beginning or a shift around the issues involved (see my article on how to best navigate Mercury retrograde).
It’s also important not to lose sight of what strongly marks this period: the recent ingress of Jupiter into Leo since late June 2026, with the planet moving through the first decan of the sign, opposite the transit of Pluto in Aquarius.
All first decans may feel this more intensely, with energies that can involve significant power struggles and confrontations with authority figures.
Even on the level of faster configurations, Mars conjunct Uranus in Gemini, square Venus in Virgo and acting as the apex of the lunar nodes, further reinforces the theme of relational and emotional tensions.
Whether within the family sphere or on a socio-professional level, depending on each individual chart, this may call for questioning where one feels most constrained or limited, in order to try to turn the situation around.
This does not appear to occur here in a “transparent or harmless” way, but rather through confrontational dynamics that may strongly mark the month of July.
It’s therefore important not to keep things bottled up, but to express them outwardly, to say what one thinks and feels.
This can be a sensitive challenge during the first half of the lunation, as many forces also push toward introversion: the already-mentioned Mercury retrograde, the New Moon forming a square to Saturn in Aries, and Venus in fall in Virgo, a position that can make it difficult to clearly define one’s personal value.
There may thus be unspoken issues, experiences lived through in recent weeks or months (when the transit of Jupiter through Cancer was unfolding), which were not fully appreciated or processed, and which now require resolution.
It is worth noting that Mercury stations direct around July 24, 2026, while strongly emphasizing its square to Saturn in Aries during its station phase.
The Venus–Mars square is also exact at this time, so these phases may indeed help to “lance the boil” toward the end of the month.
Be mindful of the Full Moon of July 29, 2026, which takes place in exact superposition with the Jupiter–Pluto opposition, with Chiron in Taurus at the apex, an especially charged configuration.
This can maximize confrontational intensity, but it also represents a culmination, indicating that tensions may begin to unwind from that point onward.
This Full Moon appears particularly favorable for “cutting through and making a decision”.
Notably, the transit of the Black Moon in Sagittarius forms a T-square with Mars in opposition and Venus at the apex.
This can resonate more strongly in relational and emotional matters, especially in relationships marked by “dominant / dominated” dynamics.
More broadly, when considering the entire sky, the period can feel rather “insecure”, conveying the sense that one cannot have everything at once, that freedom must be fought for, and that affirming personal power requires certain risks and impulses toward rebellion, something that can also be observed more readily in mundane astrology.
This is something likely to mark almost the entirety of the second half of the lunation.
It’s worth noting that around August 7, 2026, Venus enters its domicile at the beginning of Libra, which can help initiate a new dynamic, especially, of course, if you are sensitive to this sign.
We also see that around this first week of August, Mercury will definitively exit its retrograde loop by crossing the same degrees again.
All of this can help, during this period, to find more favorable energies for conciliation, mediation, and negotiation, setting the tone through to the next New Moon on August 12, 2026.
